However, with no appointments needed and connection to a highly qualified telemedicine doctor within 15 minutes, it can be much quicker and easier than getting an appointment at your usual practice.
To use Instant Consult telemedicine mobile app, you need to make a Patient Account. If you are 17 or over, you can create your own account; those under 17 also need their own account but must have a parent/guardian present during the consultation. Once you have filled out the details needed and given your debit/credit card information, you will then be able to press the Request a Consult button. This will automatically connect you to the next available online doctor, in less than 15 minutes.
As soon as your consultation begins, your session is automatically timed. We charge for the length of time a consultation takes, and for a standard consult, we are less costly than a ‘standard’ visit to a private GP practice, please check out our pricing page for more info.
Once the consult has finished, your doctor will prepare any documentation needed – we will send your telemedicine prescriptions to a nominated pharmacy in our Pharmacy Directory or to your home address, and other documents will be available in your Instant Consult inbox.
Your nominated debit or credit card will then be charged according to the time taken. We also offer bulk billing with a valid Medicare card for eligible patients.
